Mariposa Ave Safe Routes to School Phase 4

Project Description

The Mariposa Avenue Safe Routes to School Phase 4 Project was the final phase of the 1.2 mile Safe Routes to School project providing complete streets connections between Greenback Lane and Madison Avenue encompassing Skycrest Elementary, San Juan High School and San Juan Park. 

This Project completed the bicycle and pedestrian network between Northeast Circle and Madison Avenue including:

  • 1600 linear feet of sidewalk, curb and gutter
  • 3200 linear feet of bike lanes
  • upgrades to the Madison/Mariposa traffic signal
  • street lighting
  • 5 new accessible curb ramps

Project Status:

The project is complete and is the recipient of a 2022 American Public Works Association (APWA) Project of the Year Award!
