Project Description:
This Project will implement roadway improvements to increase safety at Butternut Drive between Villaview Drive and Roseville Road and includes signal visibility enhancements at various existing signal locations across the City.
The Project scope of work includes:
- Reconfiguration of the intersection of Roseville Road/Butternut Drive to provide multi-modal safety improvements
- New left-turn lane on Roseville Road
- Refreshed bike lanes, signage, & striping
- Drainage improvements
- Bulbouts on Butternut Drive
- Street Lighting adjustments
- Reconfiguration of the intersection of Butternut Drive/Villaview Drive to provide bulbouts to increase sight distance and reduce crosswalk length.
- Systematic improvements to include retro-reflective backplates at 35 signalized intersections throughout the City for enhanced visibility.
This Project has been funded through a Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) Grant. This intersection was identified in the City's Local Roadway Safety Plan (LRSP) adopted by Council on October 8, 2020. The current project has been funded through construction, which is anticipated to start Summer of 2025.
Project Status:
The City has contracted with Kimley-Horn and Associates, a consultant engineering firm, to complete the construction documents. The project has completed preliminary design and environmental phases. The team is currently working through utility and stakeholder coordination prior to completing bid documents in early 2025.
Construction is planned for the 2025 construction season.
