Residential Street Resurfacing Project | These projects resurface various residential streets around the city including asphalt and concrete repairs where needed. The Pavement Preservation Plan was adopted in December 2023 and includes a 3-year schedule of streets that will receive some type of pavement preservation treatment. | The 2024-2025 Project is scheduled for the 2025 construction season. |
Auburn Blvd Complete Streets Phase 2 | This is a complete street improvement project with sidewalks, street lighting, traffic signal upgrades and landscaping from Rusch Park to Orlando Ave. | Construction began July 22, 2024, and will take approximately 2 years to complete. |
Dewey/Van Maren Resurfacing and Pedestrian Enhancements Project | This project will resurface Dewey/Van Maren from Connemara Drive to Auburn Blvd and includes storm drain upgrades, pedestrian enhancements and traffic calming elements. | Construction is underway. |
San Juan Complete Streets | This project will fill in gaps in the existing sidewalk network, install new storm drain infrastructure, complete ADA curb ramps, and resurface San Juan Ave between Madison Ave to Spicer Drive. | Phase 1A from Madison to Chesline is complete. Phase 1B is currently in the final design phase. |
Sunrise Boulevard Resurfacing Project | This project will resurface Sunrise Boulevard from Madison Avenue to Greenback Lane. For more information about the City's resurfacing program, please visit the Pavement Preservation Plan. | Construction is scheduled to begin in Spring 2025. |

Arcade Cripple Creek Trail - Mariposa Extension | This project will extend the Arcade Cripple Creek Trail (ACCT) from the western limits of the Arcade Creek Preserve at Sayonara Drive along the creek corridor to Mariposa Avenue. |
This project will begin the design phase in 2025. Extensive community engagement is included as part of the design process. |
Gateway Activation Plan (GAP) | This project will develop a concept plan to close the gap between the three multi-use trails in Citrus Heights, Roseville, and Sacramento County. | This Plan is currently in the design phase and will include extensive community engagement. |
Old Auburn Road Complete Streets Phase 1 | Project will evaluate existing conditions, identify collision trends and deficiencies. Engage community to identify solutions to improve Old Auburn Rd. between Fair Oaks Blvd. and Auburn Blvd. | The City is working on the design of Phase 1 and pursuing grant funding for construction. |
Project is identified in the Local Road Safety Plan (LRSP). Project includes safety improvements on Butternut Drive between Roseville Road and Villaview Drive to include bub outs, left-turn lane for southbound Roseville Road, bike lanes, signage and striping. The project also includes installation of retroreflective backplates at 36 signalized intersections throughout the City. | Project is currently in the design phase. Construction anticipated to begin in FY 24/25. |

Carriage Drive and Lauppe Lane Safe Schools Corridor Plan | The Plan includes Carriage/Lauppe corridor between Auburn and Antelope. The Plan provides framework to improve safety, access, and comfort for all corridor users. | City Council adopted the final Plan in December 2020. The City is actively seeking grant funds to design and construct the Project. This Project will most likely be implemented in a phased approach. |
Local Road Safety Plan | The Plan provides a framework to identify, analyze, and prioritize local roadway safety improvements. The LSRP focus is on opportunities to improve traffic safety within the city using solutions from the engineering, education, enforcement, and emergency services toolboxes. | City Council formally adopted the Plan on July 22, 2021. |
Multi Modal Transportation Safety Program (MMTSP) (Caltrans Sustainable Communities Grant) |
The Program evaluates requests and uses a tool to prioritize the implementation of new signs, striping, crosswalks, speed humps, traffic calming, and traffic enforcement. The MMTSP replaced the 2001 Neighborhood Traffic Management Program (NTMP). | City Council approved the MMTSP in December 2020. The Program is ongoing. . |

Arcade Cripple Creek Trail Project Formerly Electric Greenway (ATP Grant) | Nearly 3 miles of a multi-use trail system spanning from Arcade Creek Park Preserve (Sunrise Blvd) to Wachtel Way is now complete and open for public use. The trail follows an existing electric transmission corridor and connects several neighborhoods to eight parks, several schools, and Sunrise Marketplace. The Arcade Cripple Creek Trailblaze Ribbon Cutting Grand Opening was held on May 5th, 2024. | Project was completed in Fall 2024. |
2024 Citywide Crack Sealing Project | Crack sealing was performed on 78 streets in preparation for the 2025 Residential Resurfacing Project. The project was completed in September 2024. | Project was completed in September 2024. |

Various Signalized Intersection Safety Improvements | Project includes safety improvements for vehicles, bicycles & pedestrians at signalized intersections. Project upgraded 30 signalized intersections, installed a pedestrian median barrier fence along three legs of Greenback Ln/Auburn Blvd intersection, and installed four accessible curb ramps at two intersections on Sunrise Blvd (at Macy Plaza Drive & Birdcage Center). | Project was completed in 2023. |
