City Council adopted the Old Auburn Road Complete Streets Plan in 2019. This plan included an extensive Public Outreach and Workshops with community members and stakeholders. From this plan, some short-term improvements have been implemented and the City has obtained a grant to complete Environmental and Design for Phase one of the project.

The City of Citrus Heights has identified Old Auburn Road as an important corridor for all types of transportation.  

The project will improve safety on the road for people driving, riding bicycles, walking, and taking transit.

The Old Auburn Road Complete Streets (OARCS) - Phase 1 Project Design will prepare the construction documents for Old Auburn Road complete street improvements between Tiara Way and Garry Oak Drive.

The OARCS Project is an Active Transportation Program (ATP), federally funded, grant project. 

Improvements include:

  • Roadway Resurfacing 
  • Traffic Signal Upgrades
  • Street Lighting
  • Repairs/Upgrades to Storm Drain Infrastructure
