Business Licenses

Citrus Heights issues business licenses to regulate business activities that occur within city limits. Visit the city’s Business License page to learn about different types of licenses and fees, and to get an application. The licenses are reviewed by the Building and Safety Division, Planning Division, and Police Department but processed by the Finance Department. Check & Clear Zoning Regulations

All properties within Citrus Heights fall into a zoning classification that regulates the type of business activities that may occur at the site. Business owners should verify with the Planning Division that their business type is allowed in the location desired prior to signing any lease agreements.

The Citrus Heights Zoning Code also implements design standards related to site plan design, architecture detailing, and building materials. Zoning is also used to control other development regulations such as signage, parking, and setback requirements. The Zoning Code is available on-line or hard copies of the Zoning Code are available for purchase at the City Hall public counter for $25.
