NATIONAL NIGHT OUT IS TUESDAY, AUGUST 5, 2025!
National Night Out is the nation's night out against crime. It is a night where residents are encouraged to join with their neighbors to have a neighborhood block party, ice cream social, or other outdoor events to build neighborhood spirit and unity - which can be a defense against crime. Research has shown that crime goes down when neighbors know each other and look out for each other. The National Night Out campaign was started in 1984. National Night Out is designed to:
- Heighten crime prevention and drug prevention awareness;
- Generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs and
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit, police-community partnerships, and programs.
