Background Report

About the Report

The Background Report represents a snapshot of the city's existing conditions, and summarizes the physical, social, and economic information required to update the Citrus Heights General Plan. This information, in some cases expanded and reformatted, will also be used as the environmental setting within the EIR that accompanies the General Plan.

This Background Report represents a summary of available information. More in-depth data may be assembled later for specific topics if deemed important to the General Plan or the Environmental Impact Report (EIR).

The data and information in this Background Report generally reflect conditions as of December 2009. However, the population and housing chapter has not been updated as part of the 2009 - 2010 General Plan update. This chapter has been updated on 2 previous occasions, and corresponds to the city's 2006 to  2013 Housing Element.

Updates

In August 2011, the city released an updated General Plan, EIR and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan. These important planning documents were updated to include 3 new topics:

  • Climate change
  • Complete streets
  • Water quality and flooding
